With our years of experience within London, we recommend visiting Swain's Lane is a 3-minute walk and is a vibrant street with cafes and restaurants. Great coffee and breakfast from Kalendar cafe as you can sit outside in the morning sun. Laz Bistro next to the roundabout also does a great breakfast with homemade Turkish bread. They own the pizza place too and their pizzas are delicious. Roni's on the corner of Swain's Lane is also a great place to eat. The FAM has all the fruit and vegetables you need and more if cooking at home is your thing, or if you want to experience a British tradition, try out one of our London pubs, our favourites being St John's Tavern and Oak & Pastor.
To further discover London heritage, you can also visit several museums like the British Museum, the Natural History Museum, the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Science Museum, and Leighton House Museum, all located within just a few minutes by walk or public transport. At the top of Swain's Lane, you can visit Highgate Cemetery which consists of two parts the "new" part where famous people such as Karl Marx and 'Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy writer Douglas Adams are buried; and the old part which can only be visited as part of a tour which can be booked online or in person on the day. The Freud Museum with Sigmund Freud's famous couch is not far, and you can easily reach on the Northern Line the Barbican, the Tate Modern and Southbank and Borough Market, and the British Museum can be reached by taking the Northern Line to Goodge Street and walking from there.
